Through this terminal and additional installations, liquefied natural gas (LNG) can be delivered, stored and regasified for transportation through pipelines to European natural gas markets

Building for a better future
The Eemshaven has started a run towards the future. In the oostlob are a considerable number of plans for the construction of sites for power generation to supply energy to the Netherlands and surrounding countries. An additional sea harbour is being constructed to support short sea shipping. Development of a booster station for NorNed and a data hotel of Sig Real Estate are in full swing. If once the power generations sites of NUON and RWE as well as the LNG project of Essent-Conoco are in their building fase the employment in the Eemshaven will increase by more then 6000 people.

Local businesses should and must anticipate on this, yes the Eemshaven will be involved a significant construction in the coming years, a place where it happens in the North of the Netherlands  and where billions will be invested.
